SCA awarded Gold in EcoVadis Sustainability Rating and strengthens its position
SCA has been awarded a Gold Medal in EcoVadis’ global sustainability assessment for 2025. At the same time, the company’s overall score has increased from 78 to 79, placing SCA among the top five percent of companies worldwide.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading providers of independent sustainability ratings, assessing companies across four main areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Each area comprises a wide range of criteria, including policies, procedures, certifications, and reporting. The results are aggregated into an overall score on a scale from 0 to 100, as well as a medal reflecting the company’s relative performance.
SCA’s 2025 score of 79 means that the company is ranked higher than more than 95 percent of all companies included in EcoVadis’ global benchmark and is therefore awarded a Gold Medal.
“Our ambition is to be at the forefront of combining profitable and efficient forestry with responsibility, care, and climate benefits. Strengthening our score further from an already high level is a clear confirmation that our long-term, systematic sustainability work is delivering results,” says SCA’s Head of Sustainability Per Funkquist.
The positive EcoVadis result is complemented by SCA’s recent inclusion on the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) prestigious A List for 2025 – the highest possible rating – in both the Climate and Forest categories.
“That two leading and independent global assessors give SCA such strong ratings demonstrates that our approach and our active, sustainable forestry perform very well in an international comparison. It is a strong recognition of both our operations and the Swedish forestry model,” says Per Funkquist.
