Södra strengthens US presence with new sales office near Boston
Södra is expanding its commercial presence in the United States with a new sales office near Boston, Massachusetts, and a logistics partnership. The investment supports the company’s growth strategy for pulp and sawn timber in North America.

The new office will oversee US sales of both pulp and sawn timber. According to Södra, a stronger local presence will help the company work more closely with customers, respond faster to their needs and improve market access.
“The United States is an important market where we see significant opportunities to grow together with our customers. By increasing our local presence, we can collaborate more closely, gain deeper insights into customer needs and develop our offer in ways that create value for both our pulp and sawn timber customers,” says Martin Chovan, Sales Director at Södra Cell, who will oversee the new office.

Södra sees growth opportunities in US demand for responsibly sourced forest products. The investment is intended to support long-term customer partnerships and strengthen the company’s competitiveness in North America.
“This is a proactive commercial investment in a market where our products, quality and sustainability profile are well aligned with customer expectations. We already have a strong foundation in North America, and this investment gives us even better opportunities to grow together with both existing and new customers,” says Henrik Wettergren, VP Södra International.
