Scania improves profitability as third-quarter sales rise 5%
Scania’s sales revenue rose to SEK 49.1 billion in the third quarter of 2026, while its adjusted return on sales improved to 12.3%. Vehicle deliveries increased, but order intake declined slightly as demand varied across markets.

Scania reported sales revenue of SEK 49.1 billion for July–September, up 5% from SEK 46.9 billion in the same period last year. Adjusted return on sales increased from 11.1% to 12.3%.
According to Scania, profitability was supported by higher truck deliveries, a favourable product mix, continued growth in services and favourable currency effects.
Vehicle deliveries increased by 3% to 22,086 units, while order intake fell by 2% to 20,098 vehicles.
Orders decline in Europe and Latin America
Scania described overall truck order intake as stable, although regional trends differed. Activity strengthened in parts of Asia and Africa, while orders declined in Europe and Latin America.
Christian Levin, President and CEO of Scania and TRATON GROUP, said the company’s customer offering and focus on efficiency supported its performance amid varying market demand.
Battery-electric vehicle orders nearly quadruple
Orders for battery-electric vehicles rose to 511 units from 133 in the corresponding quarter last year. Deliveries increased to 247 units from 159.
Despite the growth in electric truck orders, Scania said the overall pace of adoption remained slower than it should be.
