Epec presents LiDAR concept for mobile machines

Epec is entering a new business area and introducing a LiDAR concept designed specifically for mobile machines and off-highway applications. The concept will be presented in Las Vegas during CES, January 6–9, as part of Epec’s continued investment in advanced environment perception technologies.

Epec Lidar concept

The LiDAR concept focuses on high-performance detection and precise measurement of objects and distances, combined with the durability required for harsh mobile machine environments. It reflects Epec’s approach to bringing industrial-grade performance to LiDAR-based sensing, supporting future situational awareness, safety, automation, and assistive functions in demanding off-highway use cases.

LiDAR-based perception is widely regarded as a key enabling technology for the next generation of intelligent mobile machines, particularly in applications where reliability, environmental tolerance, and accurate spatial understanding are critical.

The concept highlights Epec’s long-term commitment to expanding its system-level expertise into perception technologies, complementing its existing strengths in electronics, embedded software, and intelligent machine architectures. The LiDAR solution is presented at a concept level, with technical details continuing to evolve as part of Epec’s long-term development work.

Insights from discussions with customers and partners will support Epec’s ongoing technology roadmap as it develops future solutions for smart and increasingly autonomous mobile machines.

Customers and partners will have the opportunity to discuss LiDAR-based perception use cases and future development directions with Epec during private meetings in Las Vegas during CES week.
