Tero Järvinen has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of Nordic Traction Group after more than 15 years at the helm. The Board of Directors has appointed Perttu Aho as his successor. Aho took up the position on 17 August 2026.

Järvinen stepped down following the completion of one of Nordic Traction Group’s most significant strategic projects in recent years: the transfer of forestry track production from Scotland to Loimaa, Finland.

During Järvinen’s tenure, the company expanded internationally, first in Europe and later in North and South America. In recent years, he also played a key role in accelerating the development of new track and chain products.

Järvinen will continue to support Nordic Traction Group as Senior Advisor and will remain a co-owner of the company.

“Nordic Traction Group has been a large part of my working life, and I am proud of what this team has built. Bringing our track production to Loimaa was a demanding project, and seeing it through to a steady, single-site operation was the right way to close that chapter. With that work behind us, I have decided that this is the right moment for me to hand over and for someone new to take the company forward,” Järvinen says.

Aho joins from Robit

Perttu Aho joins Nordic Traction Group from Robit Plc, where he led the company’s Down-the-Hole business as Vice President and served as a member of the Group Management Team.

Aho brings broad international experience in sales and distribution channel development, industrial manufacturing of consumables and general management across Europe, Asia and North America.

“What drew me to Nordic Traction Group is a rare combination of domestic manufacturing roots in Loimaa going back well over a century, combined with premium consumables that professionals around the world genuinely depend on in the most demanding conditions. That is a strong foundation to expand on,” Aho says.

According to Aho, his first priority is to get to know the company’s employees, customers and dealers and to listen carefully to different stakeholders before drawing conclusions.

Nordic Traction Group Chairman Anssi Poutanen highlights several major changes during Järvinen’s tenure, including the company’s separation from Gunnebo Industries Group, a change of ownership and the relocation of track manufacturing to Loimaa.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Tero for more than fifteen years of committed leadership. He guided the company through its separation from the Gunnebo Industries Group, through a change of ownership and through the relocation of our track manufacturing to Loimaa — each of them a demanding transition,” Poutanen says.

According to Poutanen, Aho brings strong industrial and international experience as well as a hands-on approach to his new role.
