Hiab lays foundation stone for EUR 19 million Raisio production facility expansion
Hiab has laid the foundation stone for the expansion of its MULTILIFT production facility in Raisio, Finland. The EUR 19 million investment will increase production capacity and modernise the facility, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.
The foundation stone was laid on 19 August, marking a major milestone in the EUR 19 million investment announced in May 2025. Members of Hiab's Leadership Team attended the ceremony.
A time capsule was placed inside the foundation stone. It contains historical images from Hiab's operations in Raisio, photos of the latest MULTILIFT TALON and New Optima products, Hiab releases concerning the expansion, a copy of the local newspaper from the day of the ceremony, a drawing of the new facility and a good-luck token.
The participants sealed the time capsule inside the foundation stone with concrete.
According to Hiab, the next-generation production environment will strengthen both its manufacturing capabilities and product offering. The expansion will increase production capacity for MULTILIFT demountable systems used in both commercial and defence applications.
The new facility will also feature more energy-efficient solutions designed to reduce energy consumption. Modernised production and office spaces are expected to improve employee safety, comfort and satisfaction.
“The expansion of the Raisio production facility is an important strategic milestone for Hiab, strengthening our leadership position and supporting our long-term growth targets. At the same time, it is a significant step towards lower emissions in manufacturing, supporting our ambition to improve energy efficiency at our sites,” says Scott Phillips, President of Hiab.
The expansion of the Raisio production facility is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
