John Deere brings ten forest machines to FinnMETKO – CUBE and planting technology also on display
John Deere will present ten forest machines as well as harvester and planting heads at FinnMETKO 2026. Also on display will be the John Deere CUBE self-service spare parts store, intelligent harvester head functions, H-Series simulators and the company’s digital solutions. The 1610G forwarder will also be available for test drives.
The harvesters on display at the John Deere stand will be the 1470H 8W, 1270H 8W, 1270H 6W, 1170G and 1070G. The forwarder line-up will include the 1610G, 1510G, 1210G, 1010G and 910G.
Harvester heads on display will include the H427, H425, H424, H423 and H212. The SKB-240 planting head will also be presented, while the PM-160 planting head will be demonstrated in operation at the demonstration area.
1610G positioned above the 1510G
The 1610G forwarder has a 16-ton load capacity, a load space area of 6.1 square metres and adjustable load space width. The adjustable load space is designed to make the machine suitable for both thinning and final fellings.
According to John Deere, the 1610G’s load space is 15 per cent larger than that of the 1510G, allowing the machine to carry up to one tonne more timber per load. John Deere also says engine power and tractive force have been increased.
The machine features a rotating and levelling cab as well as a cab suspension system. The load space has an integrated sorting system for carrying different timber assortments in the same load.
The 1610G will also be available for test drives at FinnMETKO. The machine provides an opportunity to try the automatic functions of the IBC 3.0 boom control system.
Three versions of H-Series harvesters
The H-Series line-up will include the 1470H as well as six- and eight-wheel versions of the 1270H. The H-Series harvesters will be presented together with the H427 harvester head.
The eight-wheel 1270H will also feature a new sound system and a direction-change accelerator pedal.
The intelligent harvester head functions on display will include IHC and ICC. IHC, or Intelligent Harvester Head Control, adjusts the harvester head’s feed pressure. ICC, or Intelligent Cut Control, monitors saw rotation speed and automatically adjusts the cutting process. The system is designed to improve control and consistency, particularly during the final phase of cutting.
CUBE enables spare parts collection around the clock
John Deere will also present its new CUBE self-service spare parts store at FinnMETKO. The concept allows customers to collect spare parts without being restricted by conventional store opening hours.
CUBE is open around the clock and, according to John Deere, stocks more than 500 items. Product availability can be checked online and parts can be pre-ordered for collection. The system automatically registers purchases.
Risutec planting heads now part of John Deere’s range
Planting heads previously known under the Risutec brand are now part of John Deere’s product range. The SKB-240 planting head will be on display at FinnMETKO, while the PM-160 will be featured in demonstrations.
Mounted on an excavator, the PM-160 combines site preparation and planting and also enables fertilisation and work documentation. John Deere will demonstrate the planting head in Nordic operating conditions at the fair’s demonstration area.
Digital functions for work planning
John Deere will also present new functions in TimberManager and TimberMatic Maps. Machine operators can now be given access to key views in TimberManager, while the service also includes tools for monitoring carbon emissions.
TimberMatic Maps features include support for maintaining consistent strip road spacing and accurate route following, as well as a function that visualises areas for collecting a full timber load. Auto Collect automatically registers loads.
The HPR thinning function can be used to review thinning key figures in the map service.
H-Series simulators for operator training
John Deere’s H-Series forest machine simulators will also be on display at FinnMETKO. They can be used to practise different stages of the harvesting process, from stand planning to the landing, as well as the operation of several machines at the same harvesting site.
The simulators are intended for operator training at educational institutions, forest machine dealerships and companies.
John Deere’s main stand at FinnMETKO is number 112. Mechanised forest planting demonstrations will take place at stand 202 on each day of the fair at 11:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 15:00.
