Production is now delivering five protected military vehicles per week, and the pace continues to accelerate.

SISU GTP represents the highest level of next-generation tactical mobility and protection. The vehicle is designed to meet Europe’s rapidly evolving security needs, and its modular structure enables a wide range of missions as well as flexible configuration options.

In early 2024, the Defence Forces of Finland and Sweden signed a framework agreement with Sisu Auto for the delivery of heavily protected SISU vehicles. To date, these customers have ordered more than 700 SISU GTP vehicles in several different variants.

- Demand for the SISU GT series is currently exceptionally strong, and it is evident that this will continue and expand to new customers in the coming years. For this reason, we are continuously increasing production volume to maintain delivery capability in line with customer needs, says Sisu Auto CEO Tomi Gardemeister.

The domestic content of SISU GTP vehicles is approximately 74%, highlighting the strong role of Finnish defence industry in high‑tech manufacturing. Design, armour structures, assembly and a significant share of the supply chain are based in Finland, supporting both domestic expertise and security of supply.

- Our production has progressed according to plan, and we have now reached our interim target of one vehicle per day. At the start of this week, the 200th SISU GTP vehicle was completed and delivered, notes Sisu Auto Production Manager Kalle Suominen.

Of the first 200 SISU GTP vehicles produced so far, the majority have been delivered to export customers, reinforcing Sisu Auto’s position in the international defence market. Solutions emphasizing mobility, protection, and modularity are particularly sought after in markets undergoing growth and transformation.

- We will continue increasing our production rate, with the goal of delivering the next 200 vehicles by the end of this year, and further growing production volume so that the 1000th SISU GTP would be completed by spring 2028, CEO Gardemeister adds.
