Volvo to showcase 700-km electric truck and new drivelines at IAA 2026

Volvo Trucks will present a range of new trucks, drivelines and technologies at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany. One of the main attractions will be the new Volvo FH Aero Electric, offering a driving range of up to 700 kilometres.

Volvo Trucks will showcase new trucks, drivelines and technologies at IAA Transportation 2026, including the new Volvo FH Aero Electric with a driving range of up to 700 kilometres.

The company will display electric, gas and diesel-powered solutions designed to meet a wide range of transport applications and support customers on their transition towards lower-emission operations. Eight trucks will be exhibited on the Volvo stand, while seven vehicles will be available for test drives.

A key feature of Volvo's presence at IAA is that test drives will begin directly from the company's stand in Hall 11. Visitors will be able to drive the new Volvo FH Aero Electric, experience the new fuel-efficient D13 engine in the Volvo FH Aero, and test a hydrogen-powered combustion engine truck that Volvo plans to launch before 2030.

"With the test-driving track right by our stand, we want to show our new trucks and drivelines at their best – on the road," says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks.

Volvo will also present solutions related to alternative fuels, charging and refuelling infrastructure, and services designed to improve fleet productivity and uptime.

Volvo Trucks was Europe's market leader in the heavy-duty truck segment in both 2024 and 2025. According to the company, more than 70,000 Volvo FH Aero trucks have been sold, while Volvo's battery-electric trucks have now accumulated more than 450 million kilometres in customer operations. Volvo also notes that all seven of its trucks tested by Euro NCAP have received the maximum five-star safety rating.
