Fordaq launches major digital overhaul with new platform and brand identity

Fordaq has launched Fordaq 2.0, described by the company as the most significant digital update in its 25-year history. The overhaul combines a new brand identity, a faster technology platform and a redesigned user experience for professionals in the global wood industry.
Fordaq says the new platform has been built around the everyday needs of wood-industry companies. Its aim is to make it easier and faster to find information, manage business opportunities, contact potential partners and use the service on different devices.
Fordaq Group now consists of three products serving the wood industry:
- Fordaq.com, a global B2B marketplace, company directory and market intelligence platform
- Neural Grader, an artificial intelligence and computer-vision solution for lumber grading, defect detection and production optimisation
- TallyExpress, a computer-vision tool for automatically measuring timber packs and improving inventory control
Together, the products form a digital ecosystem covering trade, production and inventory management.
Fordaq.com rebuilt on a new technology platform
Fordaq.com has been migrated to a new technical foundation intended to make the service faster, more stable and easier to develop. The website’s homepage, marketplace, company directory, member pages and news sections have also been redesigned.
The marketplace allows users to browse offers and requests, filter results and contact companies directly through messages or chat. The updated company directory provides business profiles, contact information and indicators intended to help users assess potential trading partners.
Company pages can include product listings, certificates, photographs, news, brochures, contact information and other company details. According to Fordaq, the profiles can serve as industry-specific digital showcases for companies seeking international buyers or suppliers.
The platform currently includes around 97,000 companies and reaches more than 250,000 wood-industry professionals worldwide. Its marketplace contains over 42,000 active offers and requests.
AI assists in creating marketplace listings
One of the new features is AI-assisted posting. Users can upload images and documents, which the platform can use to help create separate marketplace offers or requests. The feature is designed to reduce the amount of manual work required when publishing several products.
Fordaq 2.0 also introduces bulk messaging for contacting multiple selected companies at once. The availability of the feature depends on the user’s membership level.
Members can also start real-time chats directly from the marketplace or company directory while continuing to use conventional messages and price requests.
Mobile access through a web application
Fordaq 2.0 is available on mobile devices as a Progressive Web App, which can be installed directly through a web browser without downloading it from an app store.
The mobile version updates automatically, can operate offline and supports push notifications for new messages. It also includes the platform’s real-time chat function.
New identity reflects broader transformation
Fordaq has introduced a new visual identity alongside the digital platform. The company says the rebranding reflects its development from a traditional online marketplace into a broader provider of digital tools, market information, company data, artificial intelligence and computer-vision solutions for the wood industry.
Fordaq Group will present Fordaq 2.0, Neural Grader and TallyExpress at several international wood-industry events during the remainder of 2026.
