Ponsse introduces thinning-optimised Scorpion and Wisent Thin Line models

Ponsse is expanding its product range with the new PONSSE Wisent Thin Line and PONSSE Scorpion Thin Line forest machines, specifically optimised for thinning operations. Sales of the Thin Line models begin immediately, with production at the Vieremä factory scheduled to start later this year.

“Thinning operations require agility, visibility and the ability to work effectively at sites where space is limited. We decided to optimise two of our popular forest machine models specifically for these requirements. The new versions of the Scorpion and Wisent provide our customers with solutions tailored for thinning work,” says Marko Mattila, Chief, Sales, Service & Marketing Officer at Ponsse.

Wisent Thin Line for thinning operations

The PONSSE Wisent Thin Line is a forwarder with a 10-tonne load capacity, designed for thinning operations. Its load space solution has been optimised for thinning, making the machine agile and well suited to first thinnings and other thinning sites.

The lower overall weight and reduced ground pressure improve its suitability for harvesting on soft terrain. The forwarder’s lighting has also been upgraded based on customer feedback.

Scorpion Thin Line available with H5 or new H6 harvester head

The PONSSE Scorpion Thin Line is based on the Scorpion harvester, whose strengths include excellent visibility of the working area, stable operation, and good crane reach and control.

In the Thin Line version, the machine settings have been specifically optimised for thinning operations to achieve the best possible fuel efficiency. The Scorpion Thin Line is available with the PONSSE H5 or the new H6 harvester head.

It is particularly influenced by the operator’s professional skills, but choosing the right machine also plays a role. The new PONSSE Thin Line forest machines also feature an upgraded audio system and a new colour scheme.
